Stampin' Sweet

My dear friend needed a birthday card for her dad and I was delighted she asked me to make one for her! As I have mentioned before I think the majority of my supplies are on the feminine side so this was a good challenge! Now, I have "manly" colors to work with so I needed some "manly" embellishments. Thank goodness for my new Spice Cake Designer Series Paper! I have fallen in love. The colors, patterns and versatilty have won my heart! I think Stampin' Up's Antique Brads and the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon were a perfect touch! I cannot wait to make more cards with this paper! I love the coordinating Spice Cake fabric that matches the Designer Series Paper too. Let me know what you think of this paper. I would love to hear your thoughts! We recently made lovely cards using the "chalkboard" technique and everyone loved it! It is so easy and fun. It is a great way to add color to your card! For my example I stamped the Basic Black card stock using Whisper White Craft ink, it will look very similar to a chalkboard. While the ink is still tacky I used my Stampin' Pastels to color the flowers. It is so easy to blend the colors as much or as little as you like. Since all of the Stampin' Up colors coordinate I was able to use Rich Razzleberry card stock as the card base and use Rich Razzleberry from the pastels as the center of my flowers to tie it all together. This card was a hit! Awww, I love babies! I have a new lil nephew and I was inspired to create this card for the occassion! I also love this stamp set! Fox & Friends is such an adorable set! Who can resist the fox, whale, turtle, giraffe, lion, owl and lil monkey! I see endless possibilities with this stamp set. I need to use these stamps more often! The "hello baby" is stamped using the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. The words coordinated perfectly with the oval punch and scallop oval punch. I used the Stampin' Up! colors Marina Mist and Crumb Cake. I thought they were perfect for a lil boy! Lastly, I used the Scallop Edge Border punch on a 2" strip of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper, then I ran the paper through the Crimper, placed sticky strip along the back and placed it on the card to give it a ruffled effect! It added nice texture to this card! Now, I am off to go see the new addition to our family! Enjoy your day!

I was making cards for a swap recently and I noticed my card needed a little extra something . I liked the color combination I was using, but I did not have any Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper on hand that coordinated with my card so I decided to make my own! I used the Fine Flourish stamp to create the design on some Melon Mambo card stock. All Stampin' Up! supplies used: Fine Flourish stamp Melon Mambo card stock Basic Gray card stock Top Note die cut Fun Flowers die cut Square Lattice embossing folder Designer Buttons Linen Thread Dimensionals Basic Black ink Oval Punch Scallop Oval Punch I stamped the small flower and the accent paper beneath the scalloped oval to tie it all together! I love how I was able to use what I had to create this card!  I cannot forget to mention how much I love my embossing folders too! What would I do without my Big Shot??? Yikes!

At least I hope so! Here is the Birthday card I made for my guy! I usually buy his birthday card.....sigh! So this year I challenged myself to make one for him. I do not make very many masculine cards but I like how this one turned out! All Stampin' Up! supplies used : Medallion Stamp Pacific Point Card Stock Basic Black Card Stock Decorative Label Punch Natural Hemp Twine Black Stampin' Emboss Powder Versamark Ink Pad I embossed the Medallion stamp onto the card stock. I love how the black shows up on the Pacific Point card stock. It has a beautiful raised texture and I did not feel like it needed much more. I punched the embossed Happy Birthday stamp using the Decorative label punch, wrapped some hemp twine around it, and I was done. Simple. Elegant. Masculine. He loved it!

At my last Stamp Camp we wished some of the old stamps farewell! Here is a fun card we made at my last Stamp Camp. It was such an easy card to make and it looks like he is bursting out of the card! We used Basic Black and Whisper White card stock, Basic Black Classic Stamp Pad, the Cutter Kit to rough up the edges, and sanding blocks to distress the torn, rolled back paper. We also used the files from the distressing kit, silver embossing powder, Extreme Skateboard (retiring), and the Afterthoughts hostess set which will no longer be available.
