Not in the mood for Halloween? You can change up your Paper Pumpkin kits to any theme you want! I think the polka dot burlap bags are so cute. Why not use those bags to make a little birthday treat bag for someone special? I cut the top flap across the entire bag so I could unravel the top of the bag for a frayed look. I used Strawberry Slush Thick Baker's Twine that I had on hand (not part of the kit) to stitch through the top of the bag. It was a basic stitch, I am no seamstress! I also had leftover tags and banners from a previous kit so I stamped those with stamps from previous kits in Strawberry Slush ink. Hello! Is it me or are the days getting shorter? I know here in Denver the nights are getting cooler too. I think fall is coming. I can't wait. Have you checked out the My Pumpkin Challenge lately? If not, head on over and check out some lovely creations! Here is my sample for this week. This little treat holder is the perfect size for a Ghirardelli Chocolate Square! Here is how I did it: You can see how I cut the box that was included in the July Paper Pumpkin kit. After I cut the piece I wanted to use, I scored 3/4" and then cut off the end piece. So when you close it as shown in the top picture you have a little treat holder. I punched two small holes at the top for the ribbon and stamped Happy Birthday (stamp from previous kit), added a banner and star at the bottom to finish it off. Thanks for stopping by! There are so many fun things to do with the Paper Pumpkin kits. This week I decided to make a Happy Birthday treat using items from the Paper Pumpkin kits. I am embarrassed to tell you how easy this lil treat was to make. I placed a flat sucker/lollipop inside one of the 3x3 cards that came in the kit. Punched holes at the bottom of the card and threaded some of the baker's twine through the holes to hold the sucker in place. Then, I wrapped the twine around a piece of some linen ribbon (from the April kit). Stamped Happy Birthday on the pre-cut banner (from the kit) and added some candy dots for embellishment! You can write a birthday message on the inside and it would be the perfect birthday treat!   Share your happy this month over at the My Pumpkin Challenge !
