Hexa....gone Crazy!

I really like the June My Paper Pumpkin Kit. The hexagons and the bright and cheery colors are fun to play with. Since the Challenge this month is to add a pop of color I cut the front off the original card and used dimensionals it adhere it to a Soft Suede card base. The dimensionals really make the white "pop" from the soft suede. I also made my own hexagon stamp using the leftover piece from the actual stamps that come in the kit. I used one of the popped out paper hexagons as a template! I used my new stamp to add a pop of color then I stamped the "hello you to" stamp over it. Here is my sample for this week: Thanks for stopping by! Please head over to the My Pumpkin Challenge for more inspiration!

Hello to you

Hello! Are you ready for the July My Pumpkin Challenge ? This month the Challenge is to add a pop of color. The My Paper Pumpkin kit we received in June is named "Hello to you." It is such a cute kit! Here is my sample for this week. I was inspired to try the Braided Card Technique by Brandy Cox. She has a great video on her blog that shows step by step how to "braid" your paper! She was even nice enough to provide the template you will need for this technique. I also used some of my Stampin' Up! markers to stamp the Hello in different colors and I used some of the designer series paper I had leftover from last months kit for the "to you" banner. I stamped some the blank hexagons that came in the kit and used some of the hexagon stickers that came in the kit for extra embellishment. I am starting to notice that I usually have scraps etc leftover each month from the My Paper Pumpkin kits so I keep them so I can try to incorporate them into futur...

Goodbye June!

Can you believe it is the last week of June already? Yikes, I can't. I hope you all are enjoying your summer! Have you been participating in the My Pumpkin Challenge ? It is a great website where you can share your My Paper Pumpkin creations. I hope you will check it out! It will get your creative juices flowing. The May kit had so many fun things in it. The Challenge this month was Tags and Banners. The kit included adorable stickers, many of which were banners! I was trying to think outside of the box this week and here is what I came up with: I used the cardboard that comes inside our Paper Pumpkin kits to make a mini clipboard. I cut the cardboard down to 4"x6" and then covered that with some of the designer series paper that came inside the kit. Then I attached the cute arrow paper clips at the top to hold my notes in place. I used the banner stickers that came in the kit to embellish my lil clipboard! I even had some extra linen thread from the April Pape...

It's Ok to Brag

Can you believe we are halfway through June. Summer is upon us and it is time for family cookouts, baseball and softball games, running through the sprinkler and many other summer past times. We are creating memories.  How do you keep your memories alive?  Well, I enjoy scrapbooking, but it takes a lot of time and effort. Don't get me wrong, it is totally worth it but sometimes I just do not have the time to invest in my detailed scrapbooks. The typical size book I create for my family is 12"x12." I enjoy taking my photos and recording the details of memorable events. I have been scrapbooking for over 15 years. Fast forward to May 2013.......where I received my May Paper Pumpkin Kit.  It is an adorable brag book kit. It is the perfect kit to jot down a special date, insert a photo, tuck in a ticket stub or your favorite recipe. It is a 5"x5" book that came with so many goodies ! This mini book is a quick and fun way to keep all those special moments ...
