It's Ok to Brag

Can you believe we are halfway through June. Summer is upon us and it is time for family cookouts, baseball and softball games, running through the sprinkler and many other summer past times.

We are creating memories.

How do you keep your memories alive?

Well, I enjoy scrapbooking, but it takes a lot of time and effort. Don't get me wrong, it is totally worth it but sometimes I just do not have the time to invest in my detailed scrapbooks. The typical size book I create for my family is 12"x12." I enjoy taking my photos and recording the details of memorable events. I have been scrapbooking for over 15 years. Fast forward to May 2013.......where I received my May Paper Pumpkin Kit. It is an adorable brag book kit. It is the perfect kit to jot down a special date, insert a photo, tuck in a ticket stub or your favorite recipe. It is a 5"x5" book that came with so many goodies! This mini book is a quick and fun way to keep all those special moments alive!

Today I am sharing a page from my brag book. I kept in mind the Tags and Banner theme from the My Pumpkin Challenge. I hand cut the triangles at the top to make a mini banner and then snipped the words from the "a good day" sticker into separate stickers for each triangle. For the banner along the bottom I used my bone folder to add some "life" to the paper which added some dimension.

What fun things have you created with your kit? We would love for you to share your creation over at the My Pumpkin Challenge or stop by to get inspired!

December Challenge: Brr! It's Cold!

Let's start December with a new challenge over at the My Pumpkin Challenge ! The last Paper Pumpkin kit was so adorable. I can't wait to see what everyone is making with it. The Challenge this month is Brr! It's cold. I live in Colorado and it is usually really cold and snowy this time of year. Yesterday the temperature was 60 degrees. My son wore shorts to school. It does not feel like December yet! It is weird to see Christmas lights hanging with no snow. I don't think snow is even in the forecast in Denver. But, in the spirit of winter here is my sample this week! p.s. I am not complaining about the warmth, just noting that it is odd. ;) I used one of the cute snowflake cards to make this hot cocoa treat. I cut one flap off the card (the end with half a snowflake). Then I used sticky tape to tape the sides of the remaining snowflake piece, to make a pocket for the hot cocoa packet. I stamped some snowflakes along the bottom and embellished the centers with rhi

New! Wishes and Stars Challenge

Let's welcome August with a new challenge over at the My Pumpkin Challenge . The theme this month is " Wishes & Stars ." It totally fits the July Paper Pumpkin kit. I love the options they provided in this kit and all the products too. You still have time to sign up for your Paper Pumpkin kit and to take advantage of the great deal going on now. Here is my sample this week. I made a star border with the different size star shapes from the kit. I traced the star outlines first, cut around my pencil lines then adhered the stars. (I thought it would look cleaner that way instead of having to cut around the stars and get in the tight areas.) The front says Make a and the inside actually says WISH, but I left my camera at work so I will show you the inside tomorrow. Don't forget to stop by the My Pumpkin Challenge today to for more inspiration. We would love for you to share your creations too! Don't be shy, even if you do not have a blog you can participa

Quick Tip Tuesday

I just wanted to share a quick tip I came across while I was browsing through Pinterest. I am not sure who came up with this great idea but I wanted to share it. Using the new framelits  Stampin' Up! offers you can make cute tags in different sizes or add a fun border to your card stock. I am enjoying creating with the framelits dies. I hope you will try it! Come back tomorrow and I will show you what I made using this technique!  ~ Thanks for stopping by! ~
