Do it yourself....

I was making cards for a swap recently and I noticed my card needed a little extra something. I liked the color combination I was using, but I did not have any Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper on hand that coordinated with my card so I decided to make my own! I used the Fine Flourish stamp to create the design on some Melon Mambo card stock.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used:
  • Fine Flourish stamp
  • Melon Mambo card stock
  • Basic Gray card stock
  • Top Note die cut
  • Fun Flowers die cut
  • Square Lattice embossing folder
  • Designer Buttons
  • Linen Thread
  • Dimensionals
  • Basic Black ink
  • Oval Punch
  • Scallop Oval Punch


I stamped the small flower and the accent paper beneath the scalloped oval to tie it all together! I love how I was able to use what I had to create this card!  I cannot forget to mention how much I love my embossing folders too! What would I do without my Big Shot??? Yikes!

December Challenge: Brr! It's Cold!

Let's start December with a new challenge over at the My Pumpkin Challenge ! The last Paper Pumpkin kit was so adorable. I can't wait to see what everyone is making with it. New! Wishes and Stars Challenge

Let's welcome August with a new challenge over at the My Pumpkin Challenge . The theme this month is " Wishes & Stars ." It totally fits the July Paper Pumpkin kit. I love the options they provided in this kit and all the products too. You still have time to sign up for your Paper Pumpkin kit and to take advantage of the great deal going on now. Here is my sample this week. I made a star border with the different size star shapes from the kit. I traced the star outlines first, cut around my pencil lines then adhered the stars. (I thought it would look cleaner that way instead of having to cut around the stars and get in the tight areas.) The front says Make a and the inside actually says WISH, but I left my camera at work so I will show you the inside tomorrow. Dessert Anyone?

Once a month I get together with a group of amazing women for Dessert Club aka Mommy's Night Out. We share kid stories, we share life stories, we eat and we drink and we make dessert together. Yes, my friend Rosalynda is pretty brilliant, she is the founder of our group. We tried book club once, no way jose, that requires homework. Plus, I do not have time to read a whole book in one month. (I have cards to make!) Unless they change it to magazine club, I know I can crank out a Glamour, Everyday with Rachael Ray and my Women's Health much faster than I can read an assigned book. Whew. We prefer immediate satisfaction. At dessert club we know we will make a yummy dessert and then devour it before we part ways. Sometimes if our kids, husbands, moms, boyfriends etc are lucky we have some leftover and we share with them. Each month we rotate houses and last month Jessica was the hostess.
