Merry Christmas to you!

I cannot believe Christmas is tomorrow. What a memorable year this has been! I know sometimes December can be a hectic month, but as I sit and reflect I know that I am truly blessed! I have two beautiful kids, a wonderful family, a loving and supportive boyfriend and the best circle of friends a gal can ask for!

Last night me and my kiddos made some holiday treats, we watched football and enjoyed some quality time together! I love lazy Sundays! We even stayed in our jammies all day......so comfy! We cannot be the only ones who do that, right?

Take a peek at a few of the Christmas items I have been working on.

I made this wine tag for a friend. I think they are my new favorite thing! Wine is a universal gift and you can make a wine tag for any occasion!
(I left the space at the bottom of the tag so she could write her own personal message.)
I love snowflakes. I am especially loving this color combination too! (Soft Suede and Very Vanilla)
I added some rhinestone bling to each snowflake and tied some tulle around it.
Yes, more snowflakes and more bling!

Did you make any Holiday cards this year?

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and I hope that you make some beautiful memories with your loved ones!

Inspiration Everywhere

Who knew when I sat down to watch the Big Bang Theory it would inspire me to make a card! Well, that is what happened. Every Thursday, My Man and I have a ritual: we have a yummy dinner and then sit back and watch the Big Bang Theory. We love that show. It cracks us up and we all know that laughing is good for you!

I love all of the characters, though Sheldon holds a special place in my heart........

Yes, that is My Man. We were at a comic book store and I could not resist taking this photo, and then take it one step further by turning it into a funny inspirational poster! (So glad he has a great sense of humor) My mom, dad, and sister love buying him the same t-shirts that the Sheldon character wears. Do you see the resemblence?

Ok, back to my card. As I was watching the show last night, Sheldon was wearing a Rubix Cube t-shirt, and in one of the scenes you can see a Rubix Cube cookie jar in the background, hmmm........it got me thinking.

This would be such a fun card to make! So, last night I grabbed some of my scrap paper, cut 1"x1" squares and made my card!

Such a quick and easy card. I was able to use scraps I had on hand. The "Remember When" stamp comes from the Word Play Stamp Set (#120651).  I might play with it and try to make one that looks more three dimensional.

The Rubix Cube is such a classic and simple toy. You had to use your mind and your hands to solve the puzzle. I love toys like this, and I think my kids are old enough to appreciate the challenge of something that is not electronic. (I just checked my phone, there is actually an app for the Rubix Cube too. Haha.)

Do you remember the last time you played with a Rubix Cube?

Simply Sweet

I love browsing Pinterest for new ideas and to get my creative juices flowing. While pinning recently, I got inspiration from a very cute lollipop card by Julie Day.  Here is my version below.

It is such a fun card! Who would not want to receive this in the mail?

It was my turn to prepare a make-n-take project at our team meeting this month (Woohoo Kindred Inkers!) so I decided this would be the card to make. For the lollipop base I adhered Stampin' Up's Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to some Whisper White card stock and ran it through my big shot using the Circles #2 Original Die. I started my spiral using Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine in the center of the circle and worked my way out. It takes a few minutes to complete this part but it is totally worth it! I bought a package of Wilton Lollipop Sticks at Michaels and then tied a bow around it to finish it off.

Let me know if you make this card! We had discussions of what size circle to use for the base, my preference was a larger circle but I think mini lollipops would be cute as well.

One last note, if you have a Pinterest account I would love for you to check out my boards here. Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Happens!

Whew! Summer came and went in the blink of an eye. I was on the go all summer and I loved it! From birthdays celebrations, to baseball games, softball games, family vacations, and the Stampin' Up Convention my summer was booked! Then summer ended and school began. I am not sure how I ended up being a mother to a 4th grader and a 6th grader already, but it is real. I shed some tears, happy tears, just realizing how fast kids grow up. It is a great reminder to cherish every moment with our kids!

Here is a quick photo recap of my summer:

We made some great memories this summer!

In the meantime, I promise I have been creating cards! I have not even had a chance to discuss the new Holiday Catalog with everyone! Yikes, I am in love with all the new products. This catalog is awesome. My wish list is huge. Here is my top five (for today anyway):

1. The Ornament Keepsakes Bundle (Page 3) I love the bundles they have in this catalog! This bundle includes the Ornament Keepsake Stamp Set and the Holiday Ornament Framelets Dies. I cannot wait to make the ornament shown on the cover of the Holiday Catalog! Item # 129950 $42.95

2. 3 1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon (Page 4) It is available in three colors, Cherry Cobbler is my fave! I love working with tulle and I am excited to add this embellishment to my cards. Item #127841 $6.95

3. Ghoulish Googlies Bundle (Page 27) Yes, another bundle! This is such a great Halloween Bundle. It includes everything you need to make a cute Halloween treat bag for your favorite trick-or-treater! You get the Googly Ghouls stamp set and Ghoulish Designer Printed Kit Item #129853 $16.95

4. Silicone Craft Sheet (Page 31) I just got mine in the mail and I cannot wait to use it. You can use this when you are working with different adhesives, I will try it with hot glue. No more burned fingers. You can place a dallop of hot glue on the craft sheet, assemble your project, then lift it right off. Item #127853 $5.95

5. Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder (Page 33) I love all of the embossing folders and cannot wait to try this one! Item #127821 $7.95

Quick Tip Tuesday

Today's tip is using Stampin' Up's Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. Have you ever used this wonderful product? It can be easily overlooked with all the other great things that Stampin' Up! offers. I love these adhesive sheets. They are 12"x12" and 12 sheets come in each package. Here is a quick tip for a cute project I will show you later this week.

  1. I have cut the adhesive sheet and paper to the size I need for my project.
  2. Remove the top sheet from the adhesive sheet.
  3. Place your paper on the "sticky" side and smooth it out.
  4. Now that it is adhered to your paper it is ready to run through the Big Shot.
  5. I am using one of the Framelits from the Labels Collection. It is perfect for my project!
  6. Once you have your paper cut you can remove the backing from the die-cut shape.
  7. Here is the empty jar I will use for my project.
  8. Last, adhere the sticky paper to your project, or in my case the jar, be sure to press it firmly so the adhesive covers the entire shape.
If you have never used these adhesive sheets I hope you will check them out and if you have used them I would love to hear what you have created with them. Be sure to Check back to see what my finished jar will look like. I cannot wait to show you!

Bridal Showers!

I do believe that wedding season is upon us! What a wonderful time of year. I was excited to make this card. I need to make more wedding cards because they are so fun to make!

I made the dress using the Scallop Circle Bigz Die for the Big Shot. I have wanted to try this technique for awhile now. After I ran my paper through the Big Shot and had my scallop circle I snipped away a portion of the scallops on both sides to create a dress. It is so easy! I have seen this idea many times. This dress would also be cute as a princess dress or sweet sixteen dress. I embossed the bottom portion of the dress in my Big Shot, added some flowers and ribbon to the dress and of course I could not forget to add some  rhinestone bling! I also painted Dazzling Details at the top of dress to add more sparkle.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used:

  • Scallop Circle Bigz Die #113468
  • Boho Blossom Punch #119858
  • Basic Rhinestones #119246
  • Elegant Lines Embossing Folder #119277
  • Whisper White card stock #100730
  • Wisteria Wonder card stock and Designer Series Paper
  • Dazzling Details #124117
  • Whisper White 5/8" satin ribbon #114616 RETIRING

Fox and Friends

I have been going through the Retirement List and setting aside all of my stamp sets that will retire at the end of the month because I have to make room for new ones! Woohoo! I am excited for the new Stampin' Up! catalog to be revealed. Do you want to see the new catalog when it is available? Send me an email with your contact information and I will send you one.

Fox and Friends is one of my favorite stamp sets that is on the retirement list. I love making baby cards with this set. The little animals are very adorable! Who can resist that monkey?

Buttons and ribbon, the perfect embellishment!

Also, here is a quick wrap of my April Photo A Day pictures!

I love participating in this challenge hosted by Fat Mum Slim!
As you can see, I spend a lot of my time at little league baseball games! I am also missing the photo for the sunset on day 15, it was rainy that day and I did not see the sun.
My daughter has joined in on the fun! She looks forward to looking at the photos each day and giving me ideas for "our" daily picture.

I have also linked up to the Linky Party the House of Smiths is hosting! I cannot wait to see everyone's photos. It is inspiring!

Fun Flowers

Just when I think spring has finally arrived here in Denver we start getting summer-like weather! It was raining last week and today is it supposed to reach 87 degrees. I prefer the temperature to rise gradually but Mother Nature has other plans for us. That is ok though, I am loving all the pretty flowers that are blooming! Flowers are great inspiration for card making!

Today I want to share this fun card I made to swap at our team meeting. Yes, the main focal point here is a flower. I made the flower with the Fun Flowers die and the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch and added a pearl to the center. I also made a frame with the Oval Scallop Frame die and then ran it through my Big Shot in the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder to add some texture. I used dimensionals to "pop up" the frame, added a little bow to the top and I was done. This card is perfect for Mother's Day or any special day!

Here is a different view so you can see the frame "pop" from the card base.

All Stampin' Up! products were used to make this card!
  • 121812 Fun Flowers Bigz L Die
  • 114521 Oval Scallop Frame Bigz Die
  • 122464 Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch

April Challenge Photos

I have been participating in the Photo A Day Challenges hosted by Fat Mum Slim and I love them. I know I have mentioned it before, but it is inspiring. It is a little reminder to take more photos. Photos are such a great way to keep memories alive!

  • Day 1. Your reflection - That is my reflection in my dryer. If you look close it is a double reflection!
  • Day 2. Color - Bright and colorful graffiti near my house. Sometimes graffiti is used to deface property, this mural is art.
  • Day 3. Mail - Some junk mail and my Stampin' Up! package waiting for me when I got home. I love to see that brown box on my porch. Paper, punches, and stamps oh my!
  • Day 4. Someone who makes you happy - There are tons of people who make me happy. On this day it is my handsome Man. He is one of the best guys I know. He makes me very happy!
  • Day 5. Tiny - Such a cute and tiny tag. It is from the Jewelry Tag Punch that Stampin' Up! offers. I love to use this tag to embellish my cards!
  • Day 6. Lunch- Sushi lunch with My Man. It was sooo good. The one at the top was called Zombie Brains, too funny!
  • Day 7. Shadow- I took this photo at the cemetery when I went to visit my grandpa. I miss him tons. I am glad the sun was in the perfect spot. I thought it was a pretty cool photo.
If you are interested in playing here is the April list.

I know my cell phone has an awesome camera. That is how I take most of my photos for my blog.
Do you take pictures everyday? If so, do you use your camera or cell phone?

Quick Tip Continued

As you can see above I made an adorable gift tag using my Quick Tip.

Here is a close up. I used the stamp set Elementary Elegance to stamp the Happy Birthday and decorative frame. I was able to use some extra scraps I had around to make the banners. I punched a hold at the top and added the ribbon to attach it to a gift. I was able to create a cute gift tag with a few embellishments. It is the perfect finishing touch for any gift!

I just wanted to share a quick tip I came across while I was browsing through Pinterest. I am not sure who came up with this great idea but I wanted to share it.

Using the new framelits Stampin' Up! offers you can make cute tags in different sizes or add a fun border to your card stock. I am enjoying creating with the framelits dies. I hope you will try it! Come back tomorrow and I will show you what I made using this technique!

I'm hoppin!

Easter is less than one week away so I wanted to share these cute cards we made at my Easter Card Class. I had a lot of fun making these cards. Do you send out cards for Easter?

I hope the Easter Bunny stops by to visit you!

p.s. I love this time of year because I get to eat my Cadbury Mini Eggs! I LOVE these delightful chocolate eggs. I try to savour each one. Luckily, My Man bought me this mega sized bag, so hopefully it will last me awhile. He loves me! Do you have a favorite Easter candy? Jelly beans are yummy too!

Spring Cleaning

Last night I turned OFF the tv and cleaned up my stamp/craft room. It was a disaster! I am so happy I took the time to clean up. I listened to Pandora and got to cleaning. I need to swoon over my Pandora station for a second, it knows me, it can read my mind and it played the perfect music last night. I recently created a station based off The Civil Wars, it was excellent. Now, my little room is all cleaned up and ready for some creating!

I have to show you these cute treat tubes we made at my March Stampin' Class. They are so fun and easy to make. The idea was from Stampin' Success, a magazine sent to Stampin' Up Demonstrators each month. I was bummed because I did not have the punch they suggested using, but then I came across Jessica's idea and I was excited to try it!

These treat tubes are so cute! You can make them as big or as small as you like depending on the paper size you cut for your project. We used the Fun Flowers Die to cap the ends per Jessica's great idea! We embellished our projects with ribbons, a tiny tag and a window using the oval punch and window sheets. You can fill these with candy or your favorite fun treat!

What would you fill your treat tubes with? I am excited to hear your ideas!

-March Photo A Day Challenge-

  • Day 17. Green- This green book is pretty much the go to manual for my job. It has tons of valuable information in it. Every few years it gets updated and the color changes. I am digging the green!
  • Day 18. A corner of your home- I love this corner of my home. It is where my beautiful lanterns from Pier One Imports are hung.  I love the colors and the shapes. They look so pretty at night all lit up.
  • Day 19. Funny- How I Met Your Mother, this show cracks me and My Man up! If you do not watch this show, give it a try!
  • Day 20. Before/After- My fingernails before polish and after polish. I love this color. It is bright and cheery and has some sparkle to it. I think I bought it for under $3 from Forever 21. This polish has lasted longer than some of my fancy name brand ones. I doubt that I will find this color again in the bins at F21. It is ok though, I think this is a popular colors for this season, I am sure I will find something similar!
Thanks for stopping by. Stay tuned for some fun Easter cards I will post soon!

    I Love Fridays!

Happy Friday and woo-hoo for the weekend! I am looking forward to it! The weather will be gorgeous, I get to stamp and create with my favorite ladies and finally read the last twenty pages of the Hunger Games. How will you be spending your weekend?

I thought I would share this card I will debut at my Card Buffet Class beginning next Month! I am really excited to kick it off. Please let me know what you think of this card.

This card was inspired by a lovely card made by Terry Kaspari . This is not the exact card she made but thanks to her card I was able to create this one! I loved her color combination and the cute vase idea. The vase is made using the oval punch and then cutting the top at an angle and the bottom straight across, then you pop it up with dimensionals. So cute!

    -March Photo-A-Day-

    • Day 9. Red- The envelope from our Netflix movie. I think the movie Salt is in there. I did not watch that movie so I cannot give you my thoughts on it!
    • Day 10. Loud- Trains are loud. Especially when you live near a rail yard, thankfully I am immune to the sounds!
    • Day 11. Someone you talked to today - My Man, I talk to this guy a lot. I love talking to him. He is making a face at me, he is raising an eyebrow and smiling out of the side of his mouth. Ha. He did give me permission to use this photo! : )
    • Day 12. Fork- I used this fork to eat the great dinner My Man cooked on the grill. It was delicious!
    • Day 13. A sign- Sassy, that is what my sign says. It sits on my desk. People around here think I am Sassy and I couldn't agree more! Sometimes it takes a Sassy girl to get the job done!
    • Day 14. Clouds- Lots of pretty clouds, light and fluffy! I just pointed my camera straight in the air for this one.
    • Day 15. Car- A Range Rover, my dream car! I am guessing I will never drive one of these bad boys but a girl can dream, or hope that Kim Kardashian reads this and decides to give me her hand me down! Just kidding!
    • Day 16. Sunglasses - These are my sisters sunglasses. (I do not wear sunglasses mostly because I already wear regular glass to see.) She does not enjoy her photo plastered on the interwebs so she allowed me to use her sunglasses for this shot which I dig. I took it as we watched my nephew play baseball - as you can see in the background.
    Thanks for stopping by!

    March Madness

I cannot believe we are halfway through March. Now, I know the term March Madness is typically used for the NCAA basketball tournaments, but I feel like March Madness is sweeping through my house.  Spring is emerging, the weather is lovely. It is time to play outdoors, cookout on the grill, and clean the yard. Spring also means tons of kids activities. We are always on the go with baseball, dance class, swim lessons, oh and school fits in there somewhere. So when the kids go to bed and I need to relax I have been making cards. Stamping is therapeutic. You should definitely try it! I will share some of my latest cards soon.

For today I will share a fun card that Kathy taught me how to make. I was so excited when she showed me the reflection technique. It is so easy! Who knew that you could create this magic with window sheets, sticky notes and a brayer!

    • Lovely As A Tree stamp set #115026
    • Glossy White 8 1/2 x 11" card stock #102599
    • Brayer #102395
    • Jet Black Stazon #101406

    -March Photo-A-Day-

    • Day 1. Up - The lantern is hung up above my stampin' table. So when I am cutting paper and using my Big Shot it lights up my area.
    • Day 2. Fruit - Bananas and oranges. My kiddos asked for them at the grocery store. They pretended that they were going to eat them. I think they each ate one. I guess that is better than none!
    • Day 3. Your Neighborhood- This is a photo looking down my block. I love my little neighborhood. It is old and established, I am close to the highway and 7-11. I need to have my slurpee fix! I am also less than ten minutes away from My Man, my parents, sister, grandparents, aunt and uncle and cousins.
    • Day 4. Bedside - I have lotion, chapstick, a book, allergy medicine, a candle, and a glass of water. I bet there are also little toys hidden behind the book.

    • Day 5. A Smile- My Girl, always smiling! I love her. She always puts a smile on my face in return.
    • Day 6. 5pm - I was driving to take My Girl to dance class. I spend a lot of time in my car!
    • Day 7. Something you wore - These are the earrings I wore that day. I was sick and so I will not share how awful I looked, but I did manage to throw on my favorite earrings.
    • Day 8. Window - The windows at La Loma. One of our favorite mexican restaurants. This place has lots of character.
Happy Friday! What are you taking pictures of these days?
