Summer Happens!

Whew! Summer came and went in the blink of an eye. I was on the go all summer and I loved it! From birthdays celebrations, to baseball games, softball games, family vacations, and the Stampin' Up Convention my summer was booked! Then summer ended and school began. I am not sure how I ended up being a mother to a 4th grader and a 6th grader already, but it is real. I shed some tears, happy tears, just realizing how fast kids grow up. It is a great reminder to cherish every moment with our kids!

Here is a quick photo recap of my summer:

We made some great memories this summer!

In the meantime, I promise I have been creating cards! I have not even had a chance to discuss the new Holiday Catalog with everyone! Yikes, I am in love with all the new products. This catalog is awesome. My wish list is huge. Here is my top five (for today anyway):

1. The Ornament Keepsakes Bundle (Page 3) I love the bundles they have in this catalog! This bundle includes the Ornament Keepsake Stamp Set and the Holiday Ornament Framelets Dies. I cannot wait to make the ornament shown on the cover of the Holiday Catalog! Item # 129950 $42.95

2. 3 1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon (Page 4) It is available in three colors, Cherry Cobbler is my fave! I love working with tulle and I am excited to add this embellishment to my cards. Item #127841 $6.95

3. Ghoulish Googlies Bundle (Page 27) Yes, another bundle! This is such a great Halloween Bundle. It includes everything you need to make a cute Halloween treat bag for your favorite trick-or-treater! You get the Googly Ghouls stamp set and Ghoulish Designer Printed Kit Item #129853 $16.95

4. Silicone Craft Sheet (Page 31) I just got mine in the mail and I cannot wait to use it. You can use this when you are working with different adhesives, I will try it with hot glue. No more burned fingers. You can place a dallop of hot glue on the craft sheet, assemble your project, then lift it right off. Item #127853 $5.95

5. Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder (Page 33) I love all of the embossing folders and cannot wait to try this one! Item #127821 $7.95

What is your favorite item from the catalog? I cannot wait to hear from you! There are lots of hidden gems in there so be sure to check out each page. I am still finding new things!

December Challenge: Brr! It's Cold!

Let's start December with a new challenge over at the My Pumpkin Challenge ! The last Paper Pumpkin kit was so adorable. I can't wait to see what everyone is making with it. The Challenge this month is Brr! It's cold. I live in Colorado and it is usually really cold and snowy this time of year. Yesterday the temperature was 60 degrees. My son wore shorts to school. It does not feel like December yet! It is weird to see Christmas lights hanging with no snow. I don't think snow is even in the forecast in Denver. But, in the spirit of winter here is my sample this week! p.s. I am not complaining about the warmth, just noting that it is odd. ;) I used one of the cute snowflake cards to make this hot cocoa treat. I cut one flap off the card (the end with half a snowflake). Then I used sticky tape to tape the sides of the remaining snowflake piece, to make a pocket for the hot cocoa packet. I stamped some snowflakes along the bottom and embellished the centers with rhi...

New! Wishes and Stars Challenge

Let's welcome August with a new challenge over at the My Pumpkin Challenge . The theme this month is " Wishes & Stars ." It totally fits the July Paper Pumpkin kit. I love the options they provided in this kit and all the products too. You still have time to sign up for your Paper Pumpkin kit and to take advantage of the great deal going on now. Here is my sample this week. I made a star border with the different size star shapes from the kit. I traced the star outlines first, cut around my pencil lines then adhered the stars. (I thought it would look cleaner that way instead of having to cut around the stars and get in the tight areas.) The front says Make a and the inside actually says WISH, but I left my camera at work so I will show you the inside tomorrow. Don't forget to stop by the My Pumpkin Challenge today to for more inspiration. We would love for you to share your creations too! Don't be shy, even if you do not have a blog you can participa...

Inspiration Everywhere

Who knew when I sat down to watch the Big Bang Theory it would inspire me to make a card! Well, that is what happened. Every Thursday, My Man and I have a ritual: we have a yummy dinner and then sit back and watch the Big Bang Theory. We love that show. It cracks us up and we all know that laughing is good for you! I love all of the characters, though Sheldon holds a special place in my heart........ Yes, that is My Man. We were at a comic book store and I could not resist taking this photo, and then take it one step further by turning it into a funny inspirational poster! (So glad he has a great sense of humor) My mom, dad, and sister love buying him the same t-shirts that the Sheldon character wears. Do you see the resemblence? Ok, back to my card. As I was watching the show last night, Sheldon was wearing a Rubix Cube t-shirt, and in one of the scenes you can see a Rubix Cube cookie jar in the background, hmmm........it got me thinking. This wo...
