A Touch of Gold

I bet we all have special moments that we celebrate. Whether it's a birthday, new baby, graduation or a retirement, don't forget to say thank you. The My Paper Pumpkin kits make it easy to have handmade cards and gifts on hand for whenever you may need one! Over at the My Pumpkin Challenge the Design Team shares weekly inspiration for your kits. Here is the thank you card I made this week.

I usually try to only use the items that come in the kit or past kits, but this week I busted out my Big Shot. I used the Starburst Framelits die on the corner of the card to cut the shape and adhered the gold envelope liner to the card. I was not much a gold (as in color) fan, until we got this kit. Now, I cannot get enough of it! I stamped the chevron pattern on the wooden thank you piece and glued it on the gold paper. I left this card simple since the gold starburst is the main attraction.

I hope you will head to the My Pumpkin Challenge for more inspiration. Please check back tomorrow because I will share one of my Customer's Creations from her Paper Pumpkin kit! Thanks for stopping by!

December Challenge: Brr! It's Cold!

Let's start December with a new challenge over at the My Pumpkin Challenge ! The last Paper Pumpkin kit was so adorable. I can't wait to see what everyone is making with it. The Challenge this month is Brr! It's cold. I live in Colorado and it is usually really cold and snowy this time of year. Yesterday the temperature was 60 degrees. My son wore shorts to school. It does not feel like December yet! It is weird to see Christmas lights hanging with no snow. I don't think snow is even in the forecast in Denver. But, in the spirit of winter here is my sample this week! p.s. I am not complaining about the warmth, just noting that it is odd. ;) I used one of the cute snowflake cards to make this hot cocoa treat. I cut one flap off the card (the end with half a snowflake). Then I used sticky tape to tape the sides of the remaining snowflake piece, to make a pocket for the hot cocoa packet. I stamped some snowflakes along the bottom and embellished the centers with rhi...

New! Wishes and Stars Challenge

Let's welcome August with a new challenge over at the My Pumpkin Challenge . The theme this month is " Wishes & Stars ." It totally fits the July Paper Pumpkin kit. I love the options they provided in this kit and all the products too. You still have time to sign up for your Paper Pumpkin kit and to take advantage of the great deal going on now. Here is my sample this week. I made a star border with the different size star shapes from the kit. I traced the star outlines first, cut around my pencil lines then adhered the stars. (I thought it would look cleaner that way instead of having to cut around the stars and get in the tight areas.) The front says Make a and the inside actually says WISH, but I left my camera at work so I will show you the inside tomorrow. Don't forget to stop by the My Pumpkin Challenge today to for more inspiration. We would love for you to share your creations too! Don't be shy, even if you do not have a blog you can participa...

Inspiration Everywhere

Who knew when I sat down to watch the Big Bang Theory it would inspire me to make a card! Well, that is what happened. Every Thursday, My Man and I have a ritual: we have a yummy dinner and then sit back and watch the Big Bang Theory. We love that show. It cracks us up and we all know that laughing is good for you! I love all of the characters, though Sheldon holds a special place in my heart........ Yes, that is My Man. We were at a comic book store and I could not resist taking this photo, and then take it one step further by turning it into a funny inspirational poster! (So glad he has a great sense of humor) My mom, dad, and sister love buying him the same t-shirts that the Sheldon character wears. Do you see the resemblence? Ok, back to my card. As I was watching the show last night, Sheldon was wearing a Rubix Cube t-shirt, and in one of the scenes you can see a Rubix Cube cookie jar in the background, hmmm........it got me thinking. This wo...
