Bye Bye July

Every month I say the same thing, time is flying by.....too fast!   Where the heck did July go? I feel like I have been on the go since my kids got out of school. I think I will finally have a break in between sports and other activities for a week or two. It will be nice to breathe and um, clean my house! Wait, I take that back, I have a birthday party to prepare for this weekend. My son will turn 12, where the heck did those 12 years go? They went by so fast. My son will be a preteen, that excites me and scares me all that the same time! He is growing like a weed and he is getting ready for braces, but for now, I will enjoy this weekend. I will watch him swim, laugh, blow out his candles and open up his birthday presents and if I am lucky, time will slow down, just for one day! I hope you are enjoying the beautiful My Paper Pumpkin creations that we share each week at the My Pumpkin Challenge. Please be sure to check in tomorrow for new creations with the July My Pa...

Don't Stop Creating!

Whew! This past week has been a whirlwind. I think I am finally recovered from my trip to the Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City. Stampin' Up! celebrated its 25th year and it was amazing. I will share some photos and stories tomorrow! For today I wanted to share my sample for the My Pumpkin Challenge ! This week I added the colors Night of Navy and Primrose Petals. I cut a piece off the original card that was in the kit and created a flower with the hexagon shapes. Then I used some pieces from an old Paper Pumpkin kit to make the leaves and stem. (see photo below) Have you been creating with your My Paper Pumpkin Kits? Please head over to the My Pumpkin Challenge and share your creations! You can win a prize and get lots of inspiration. Customer Creations

Today I wanted to share what one of my dear friends has been creating with one of her My Paper Pumpkin Kits. Didn't she do a great job! They are quick and fun to make. QUICK QUESTION: Do you buy your cards or do you make your own? And just thought I would share a picture of my kids after their trip to the dentist! Yes, I can read their minds! I hope you have a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

It's not yellow

I like yellow, it is a bright and cheery color. I also think it is a versatile color that plays well with lots of colors. How can we make yellow even better? How about by giving it a fun name, like Stampin' Up! did, Daffodil Delight ! Yes, that sounds delightful. Daffodil Delight is the color I chose this week for the My Pumpkin Challenge : Add a pop of color! I used the soft suede ink pad that came in the June box to stamp four chevrons, I stamped two of them full color then stamped off the other two. I placed the four chevrons onto my Daffodil Delight. I used the fun hexagons that came in the box as well! I was not sure if I would like the polka dots and the chevron together but I do! We would love to see what you are creating! Head over to the My Pumpkin Challenge and share your work. Don't forget, you can also share samples from past boxes!

Hexa....gone Crazy!

I really like the June My Paper Pumpkin Kit. The hexagons and the bright and cheery colors are fun to play with. Since the Challenge this month is to add a pop of color I cut the front off the original card and used dimensionals it adhere it to a Soft Suede card base. The dimensionals really make the white "pop" from the soft suede. I also made my own hexagon stamp using the leftover piece from the actual stamps that come in the kit. I used one of the popped out paper hexagons as a template! I used my new stamp to add a pop of color then I stamped the "hello you to" stamp over it. Here is my sample for this week: Thanks for stopping by! Please head over to the My Pumpkin Challenge for more inspiration!

Chit Chat

Hello! How are you? What is new with you? Well here in Denver we are enjoying cooler temperatures. I must say I am grateful! I do not have an air conditioner and I was feeling the heat! In my opinion fans just blow around the hot air and it does not seem cooler to me, especially since there was no breeze to circulate within the hot air. Whew! Today we are hanging at a cool 81 degrees and I am loving it! I am also jumping on the Bloglovin wagon! It is the perfect way to stay up to date on your favorite blogs. Do you already use it? There is even an app. I would love for you to follow me! Follow my blog with Bloglovin Have you checked out the Stampin' Up!  CLEARANCE RACK lately? Lots of new products have been added. Hello to you

Hello! Are you ready for the July My Pumpkin Challenge ? This month the Challenge is to add a pop of color. The My Paper Pumpkin kit we received in June is named "Hello to you." It is such a cute kit! Here is my sample for this week. I was inspired to try the Braided Card Technique by Brandy Cox. She has a great video on her blog that shows step by step how to "braid" your paper! She was even nice enough to provide the template you will need for this technique. I also used some of my Stampin' Up! markers to stamp the Hello in different colors and I used some of the designer series paper I had leftover from last months kit for the "to you" banner. I stamped some the blank hexagons that came in the kit and used some of the hexagon stickers that came in the kit for extra embellishment. I am starting to notice that I usually have scraps etc leftover each month from the My Paper Pumpkin kits so I keep them so I can try to incorporate them into futur...
